To stay healthier, wash your hands

Problem - We do not wash enough
Bacteria thrive on our hands and help to spread infection. Infections are spread mainly via the hands. It is therefore important that you wash your hands several times a day.

If you work in health and social care, it is important to wash your hands before and after each contact with a patient or client, particularly if you have come into contact with bodily fluids such as urine, faeces or blood.  Read more about this under the heading "Prevent infection".

Solution
If you work in healthcare, or handle food, there are laws and regulation that describe methods for correct hand hygiene at work. For everyone else, common sense applies. The Swedish Institute for Infectious Disease Control recommends that we wash our hands routinely after visiting the toilet; before, during and after food preparation; and when we come home from work, school or preschool, for example.

Sterisol has products for everyone. We have everything from very mild unfragranced soaps to more luxurious ones that develop a lovely lather and a fresh fragrance.

Sterisol Cleansing cream is ideal if you have dry and sensitive skin or you work in a damp environment. It can also replace soap in winter when the skin often becomes dry and chapped.

Because our soaps are gentle, and do not contain preservatives or other harmful additives, you can wash your hands as frequently as you need.
Naturally, our packs are completely airtight, so you need not worry that the soap will go off. Your soap is always clean and fresh.

How to wash your hands using liquid soap

  1. Wet your hands with warm water. Let the water run.
  2. Dispense some soap onto your hands and rub them together to create a lather.
  3. Rinse the soap off completely.
  4. Dry your hands with a disposable paper hand towel. A fabric hand towel is a real infection spreader.
  5. Turn the tap off using the paper hand towel.
  6. If you have dry skin, use an emollient after washing.
