Suppliers of products classified as hazardous must supply safety data sheets in hard copy or electronically to professional users. The sheet, which contains 16 mandatory items, must be supplied not later than the first delivery, and a new safety data sheet must be supplied as soon an any update takes place. All Sterisol's hand disinfection products are classified.

There are no requirements for cosmetic products, such as soaps and creams. However, many users request information, and most suppliers supply safety data sheets for these products, too.

There is no obligation to supply safety data sheets to consumers, but if a professional user buys products in consumer packaging the supplier must be able to supply a safety data sheet.

As Sterisol's Eyewash is a medical device, not regarded as a chemical or hygiene product, there is no safety data sheet issued for the product.
